The latest round of funding under the NSW Government’s Infrastructure Grants program is now open, with more than $6 million available for community projects across the state.
The program, which will provide $12.75 million across two rounds in 2024/25, invites applications to build or upgrade facilities across arts, sports, community infrastructure and disaster preparedness – with previous supported projects including a women’s shelter, evacuation centre and an indoor futsal stadium.
Applications can be made under four funding categories:
Administered through the NSW Office of Responsible Gambling, funding under the program is made possible by ClubGRANTS Category 3, which directs profits from registered clubs’ gaming machines into community projects, while clubs receive a tax concession in return.
The NSW Government’s review into the effectiveness of ClubGRANTS is ongoing amid continuing work across government to improve integrity and public trust in grants. This is the first formal review into the scheme since 2013.
Office of Responsible Gambling Director, Alison Parkinson, encouraged local government and not-for-profit community groups to apply for funding for projects.
“Since 2013 the Infrastructure Grants program has provided $139 million to support more than 790 local government and not-for-profit community projects,” Ms Parkinson said.
“These grants are highly competitive, and we are always impressed by the number and quality of the applications we receive.”
