Bathurst Roadshow to Focus on Hospitality and Racing Industries

Hospitality and Racing CEO Anthony Keon and key departmental staff will meet with industry stakeholders from Bathurst’s hospitality and racing industries on 18 July as part of the NSW Government’s Regulatory Roadshows.

The roadshows give local businesses and industry groups the opportunity engage with senior Hospitality and Racing staff to discuss regulatory priorities and share stakeholder insights.

Mr Keon said the roadshow was an important platform for the NSW Government to better understand the hospitality and racing industries in Bathurst and the Central Tablelands.

"Pubs, clubs and racetracks are the lifeblood of areas like Bathurst, so we are keen to hear how regulation impacts these businesses,” Mr Keon said.

“The Bathurst 1000 is an international event and showcases the region’s diverse hospitality experience, while the local racing industry is a key driver of the local economy year on year.”

“I look forward to getting to know the people that work in the industry here, and this will help inform our approach to ensure vibrant and sustainable hospitality and racing sectors in the years to come.”

“We want to hear directly from those running the bars, restaurants and races, what issues are affecting them and provide an opportunity for them to getting a better understanding of our approach and what are our current priorities are.”

Mr Keon said the event will feature a range of speakers, interactive panel discussions and information booths about the Government’s services.

“The event offers liquor licensees, registered trainers and industry peers the chance to chat face-to-face with the regulator, providing valuable input on key issues affecting their livelihoods,” Mr Keon said.

The NSW Government will be holding roadshows in Fairfield (Sydney’s West), Sydney CBD and Kiama later in 2023.
